Workshop & Events Terms & Conditions
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These are the terms and conditions which apply to The Fermentation Station's, workshops & events and forms an agreement between you and us. We will not file a copy of our agreement with you. These terms and conditions are available in the English language only.
By booking a Fermentation Station workshop or event you accept these terms and conditions. You should read them carefully before making a booking. We recommend you save a copy of them for your future reference.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
Ingredients, utensils, equipment, and aprons are provided for all workshops. Some meals are included in the course cost – please see appropriate course details for further information.
We reserve the right to make amendments to course content and recipes without notice.
AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the workshop. If at any point during the workshop the tutor believes the child is causing a disruption to the class, he/she will ask both the adult and child to leave.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
All participants of workshops should wear shoes with flat, non-slip sole. We recommend wearing sensible clothing (ie. not your weekend best) and are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing. Ideally we would recommend wearing short sleeves for our workshops so as not to get ferments on your clothes.
If you have been or are suffering from food poisoning or an upset stomach (or have come into contact with anybody who is exhibiting these symptoms) within 48 hours of the course, we would ask that you not to attend and contact ourselves.
All open wounds must be covered, ideally with a blue plaster. If you don’t have a blue plaster, let us know on arrival and we will be happy to provide one.
LATENESS:
Our workshops are packed with as much information as we can possibly fit into them, so starting on time is crucial. As a result, it is essential you arrive promptly for your workshop.
If you are late, please be aware that the class may have started. Wherever possible, we will allow you to join in, however if you have missed essential parts of the class, this may not be an option. A refund will not be provided in this instance.
Special dietary requirements & food allergies
Please inform us in advance of any allergies, disabilities, pregnancy, learning difficulties, etc. We will be happy to discuss course content beforehand and make adjustments whenever possible.
PAYMENT:
All payment must be made in full at the time of booking. We do not take provisional bookings and cannot confirm your place on a course until we receive full payment. Payments via PayPal must be processed in full in order to confirm place.
LIABILITY:
The Fermentation Station will not accept responsibility for the loss of any personal possessions.
Acceptable usage of course content:
Recipe booklets and reference materials are provided to support students in their ongoing development and are issued for personal use only. The sharing of course materials by print, press, photocopy, email, blogs, internet or any digital transfer medium is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of The Fermentation Station. If in doubt, please ask about what is and isn’t acceptable usage.
CANCELLATIONS:
To request a cancellation you must provide The Fermentation Station with written notice via email to info@thefermentation-station.co.uk. Unless you have received acknowledgement from us that we have received your request, you cannot consider your request delivered. You may only terminate the contract in the circumstances set out below:
Course cancellations more than 14 days from of the start of your course
You may request a change of course date up to 14 days before the start of the course and we will happily transfer you to another course date, subject to availability, without cost. You may also request a refund up to 14 days before the start of the course you have booked.
Course cancellations within 14 days of the start of your course
Most bookings for courses at The Fermentation Station are made months in advance. It is therefore often hard for us to resell any places within 14 days of the start of the course, and any cancellations within this time can result in lost revenue that affect the ability of The Fermentation Station to deliver quality courses.
If you wish to reschedule your course within 14 days of the start date, you will forfeit your course fees.
If a person that is booked on a course fails to attend for any reason, they will not be entitled to a refund or a rebooking of another course.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
We strongly recommend travel insurance that will cover your costs in the event of you being unable to attend your course.
Travel insurance will cover you for many issues that may prevent you from attending your course such as illness, sickness of an immediate relative, travel disruption, etc.
CANCELLATIONS BY THE FERMENTATION STATION:
The Fermentation Station is entitled to cancel any course at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the course or the part of the course which has been cancelled.
In the event of COVID-19 restrictions causing the cancellation of a workshop or event, attendees will be refunded in full unless they wish to reserve their space for a future event.
In the unlikely event of cancellation of a course by ourselves, we undertake to offer a suitable transfer to an alternative date or course, or a full refund (within 14 days) of any course fees.
We cannot be held liable for any third-party costs, such as travel bookings or accommodation with hotels other than our own.
REFUNDS:
Our classes take place on a specific date, therefore once a purchase is complete we will not be able to refund you where you do not attend or if you cancel your event booking. This is because we will have reserved and set aside a specific place for you at the event which we will not be able to fill or resell.
Please make sure you will definitely be able to travel to the class before you book.
All refunds are made to the source of the initial payment, ie. fees paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
GENERAL:
These terms and conditions are a contract between you and us. No other person shall have any right to enforce any of the terms.
Each of the paragraphs of these terms and conditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
We may revise our terms and conditions from time to time, for example to reflect changes in relevant laws or regulatory requirements or improvements we make to The Fermentation Station workshops & events and related services.
